Soundtrack Pro and Livetype

As well as filming and editing our Thriller, we will also be creating the sound/music for the sequence, as well as the opening titles.

To do this, we will be using the programs Soundtrack Pro and Livetype.

Soundtrack Pro is a program which contains thousands of royalty free loops and sound effects (as shown in the picture to the right), which can be used to create an original soundtrack. It is quite an easy program to use, and is designed for people who are not musicians to be able to create a film soundtrack, and works well with Final Cut Pro. I have found using Soundtrack Pro to be quite easy, and also impressed by the quality of soundtracks/music that can be produced with it.

Personally, I believe it is a lot harder to use than Soundtrack Pro, as it has many more features and is more flexible. After the introductory lesson on how to use it, I decided I needed to do more research and have some more practise using this program. Since then, I have been using it in the Media rooms at college outside the lessons in my free time and during the workshops at lunch time.
